Start journey Learn moreIn September 2025, the price of Mounjaro in the UK rose significantly — Eli Lilly's list price for the highest-dose pen climbed from around £122 to around £330, as widely reported at the time. If you opened a price-comparison site expecting to find the figures you'd budgeted for and found something very different, that disorientation is entirely understandable. This page explains what changed, what private prices typically include (and what they sometimes don't), and how to assess a quoted price for what is, legally, a prescription-only medicine requiring clinical assessment before any prescriber can issue it.

Picture this: a few months ago you noted the going rate for Mounjaro and made a mental note. Then you searched again recently and the numbers had moved substantially. That's not a website error. Eli Lilly raised its UK list price for Mounjaro from 1 September 2025, with the highest dose's list price rising from roughly £122 to roughly £330 per four-week pen, as widely reported in August 2025. Prices across private providers have followed the list price upward, with typical private monthly costs now ranging from around £149 at the starter dose to around £375 at higher doses, varying by provider and dose, figures that have been reported across the trade press and should be treated as approximate, since they shift.
The Mounjaro weight loss price increase affected every legitimate private route in the UK, because all of them source medicine through the licensed UK supply chain. If you're comparing options, our detailed breakdown of what drove the price increase gives the fuller picture. The short version: the rise reflects Lilly's commercial repricing of the medicine now that early supply constraints have eased, not a change in what the medicine is or does.
There is also a dose-level picture worth understanding. The price increase was not uniform across all strengths. The effect on the 5mg pen differs from the effect at 15mg. Starting dose costs tend to be lower; maintenance-dose costs are where the September 2025 change bites hardest.
Once you've registered the new price range, the next thing to check is what any given quoted figure actually includes. Some providers show the medicine cost alone, then add consultation fees, prescription fees and delivery at the point of purchase. A price that looks attractive upfront can land closer to market rate once those charges are added.
The items most commonly separated out are: the initial clinical consultation (sometimes charged per session), the written prescription itself (occasionally a separate fee), delivery (free next-working-day delivery is not universal), and any clinical review required before a dose change or repeat order. Aftercare, which matters if you have questions after the pen arrives, is handled differently by different services, some charge for follow-up, some don't.
It is also worth knowing whether the service operates on a subscription model with auto-renewals, or whether every order is placed fresh. Auto-renewal arrangements affect how much control you have over your spending and your treatment timeline. Our page on Mounjaro private pricing runs through the components that make up a realistic total cost, which gives you a basis for comparing quotes like for like.
Understanding the full cost is also separate from understanding eligibility. Mounjaro's UK licence covers adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 or above with at least one weight-related health condition. Lower BMI thresholds apply for some ethnic backgrounds under UK guidance. None of that changes with the price, a prescriber still assesses each person individually, regardless of what any page quotes.
At nume, one price covers the consultation, the prescription, the treatment, next-working-day DPD delivery and seven-day aftercare. There are no subscription commitments and no auto-renewals; every repeat order goes back in front of a prescriber for re-review. We don't publish per-pen prices in our content (the current treatment pricing is shown on the treatment page) but the structure is transparent: what you see is what you pay.
We are not the cheapest option in the market, and that's a deliberate choice rather than an oversight. Cheapest isn't a race we entered, and if you want to understand which providers have held their Mounjaro pricing steady and what that means in practice, that context is worth reading before you make a decision. The price we set reflects the cost of doing clinical oversight properly: photo-ID identity checks, live weight verification by video, GP notification, Summary Care Record access where appropriate, and a named GPhC-registered prescriber who reads your consultation personally before any medicine is issued. A real clinician reads your case the same day, not software working through a queue.
If the September 2025 increase has moved Mounjaro beyond what feels affordable, that is a genuine concern and worth discussing in a consultation. There is no obligation to proceed. For anyone interested in a broader overview of what treatment involves, our main Mounjaro page covers mechanism, eligibility, evidence and what to expect.
The MHRA has issued repeated warnings about fake weight-loss pens sold online, in October 2025 the first UK site manufacturing counterfeit tirzepatide pens was raided in Northampton, and enforcement in 2025 alone accounted for around 20 million doses of illegally traded weight-loss medicines (approximately £45 million street value). Counterfeit pens have contained insulin. The people selling them don't run consultations.
The safe route to Mounjaro in the UK is through a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, our own registration number is 9012878. A price that sits well below the reported market rate, offered without a clinical consultation, is one of the clearest signals that something is wrong with the supply chain, and our guide to what cheap Mounjaro in the UK actually means explains how to tell a genuine deal from a dangerous one. The MHRA's Yellow Card service is where you can report any suspected counterfeit or unsafe seller.
If you've been on treatment elsewhere and want to transfer, or if the price increase has made you consider switching providers, our prescribers can review evidence of your current treatment. The consultation is free. Start your free consultation and a prescriber will review your case the same day.
