Start journey Learn moreThe price difference between Mounjaro and Wegovy depends on the dose and the provider, but in the UK private market since late 2025, Mounjaro has generally sat at the higher end — particularly at maintenance doses — following Eli Lilly's list-price increase in September 2025. Wegovy has historically been priced lower at equivalent stages of treatment, though that gap narrows as doses rise. Both are prescription-only medicines, which means they require clinical assessment before any pharmacy can legally dispense them. The figures below are hedged estimates drawn from reported market data; the only price that matters for you is the one confirmed at consultation, which includes everything the prescription actually covers.

When Eli Lilly raised Mounjaro's UK list price on 1 September 2025, the highest-dose pen moved from roughly £122 to around £330 per four-week supply. Reported private prices across providers since then range from approximately £149 at starter doses to around £375 at the 15mg maintenance dose, depending on the clinic. Wegovy, by comparison, has typically been quoted in the £170–£299 range per monthly supply, varying with dose and provider. If you want to see wegovy vs mounjaro prices set out side by side across dose levels, the figures are broken down in detail on that page, because on those widely reported numbers the difference can be anywhere from negligible to over £100 per month, with Mounjaro tending to cost more at higher doses.
These are estimates, and they shift. What the headline figures rarely capture is what they include. A £149 Mounjaro pen from one provider may carry a separate consultation fee, a prescription charge on top, a delivery surcharge, and no structured aftercare if a side effect surfaces. Strip those additions away from a seemingly cheaper headline and the real cost difference between the two medicines (and between providers) can look very different. The Mounjaro vs Wegovy price UK breakdown covers this in more detail if you want the numbers side by side.
The NICE appraisal of tirzepatide (NICE TA1026) and the corresponding appraisal of semaglutide (NICE TA875) both assume treatment sits inside a supported clinical programme, not a bare prescription. That framing matters when comparing costs honestly.
A question our prescribers hear most weeks is some version of: which one costs less over a full course? The answer is that both treatments start at a low tolerability dose and move upward on a schedule set by the prescriber, typically in four-week steps. Mounjaro begins at 2.5mg (a dose whose job is to settle your system before any meaningful titration begins) and can reach 15mg. Wegovy's maintenance ceiling was 2.4mg for most of its licensed history; the MHRA's approval of the 7.2mg single-dose pen in April 2026 added a higher tier that brings reported trial weight loss of around 20.7% over 72 weeks, closer to tirzepatide's results from SURMOUNT-1.
The practical cost implication is that if you reach and stay at a higher maintenance dose, the per-month spend rises. For Mounjaro especially, the September 2025 price change made the top two or three doses noticeably more expensive than they were before. For Wegovy, the 7.2mg pen is newer and its private pricing is still settling. Neither medicine is a short commitment (clinical trials ran for 68 to 72 weeks) so the total outlay over a full course is worth factoring into any comparison. The Wegovy vs Mounjaro cost page works through the month-by-month picture across the full titration ladder.
Cheapest is not a race we entered. One transparent price at nume covers the consultation, the clinical prescription, the medicine, and free next-working-day delivery, nothing added at checkout, no membership fee, no auto-renewal. Whether the monthly figure for Mounjaro or Wegovy is right for your circumstances is something a prescriber discusses with you, not something we decide in advance of that conversation.
What we can say plainly is that the all-in structure tends to compare favourably with providers whose headline price is lower but whose total spend (once consultation, delivery and aftercare are added) is not. Our clinical team's profile is on the clinical team page if you want to understand who reviews your case. Current treatment pricing, for both Mounjaro and Wegovy, is on the treatment page; we keep it there rather than in body copy because it moves with supply and dose availability, and we want you to see the current figure rather than one we printed weeks ago.
Both medicines are dispensed through our GPhC-registered pharmacy (registration number 9012878, verifiable on the GPhC register), sourced through the licensed UK supply chain. That is not a small point. Counterfeit pens have entered the market at prices well below legitimate private rates, and the MHRA has warned publicly about fake weight-loss pens sold through social media and unverified online sellers. Price is a useful starting point for comparison; supply-chain legitimacy is the right finishing criterion. The Wegovy vs Mounjaro overview covers clinical differences if cost is only part of your decision.
Both Mounjaro and Wegovy are Prescription-Only Medicines. Their trial results (roughly 20–21% average weight reduction with tirzepatide at 15mg in SURMOUNT-1, and around 15% with semaglutide 2.4mg in STEP 1 (STEP 1, NEJM)) were achieved inside closely supervised clinical programmes, not as bare pharmacies dispensing pens without follow-up. The Mounjaro and Wegovy price comparison page and the Wegovy price compared to Mounjaro page both address how to read quoted prices critically.
A small saving per pen is not the measure that keeps you safe on a prescription medicine. Clinical oversight, a verifiable dispensing pharmacy, and aftercare when something goes wrong are the things worth comparing first. Price is second. If you want to talk through which treatment suits your circumstances, the consultation is free and the prescriber decides, not the cost chart.
